STUDENT COMMENTS

Here's a chance for you to have some input.  If you wish to add comments, read the procedures before sending an email to us.

"I recently attended the A&P oral and practical (O&P) prep. course with AEC. It turned out to be exactly what I was looking for. I gained the experience for my A&P over the last 25 years. Some of my experience was rather dated. Some items that are required for the O&P I had never had experience with. The O&P prep took care of all of this. I was somewhat nervous at the start of the course. There is a lot of material to cover and it seem somewhat daunting. However, by the end of the second day of training I felt very confident that I would pass the O&P the next day.

The O&P was with Mr. Nichols, who is a designated examiner for the FAA. He was quite personable but very businesslike. He is required by the FAA to ask a certain number of questions from each area of the O&P guide issued by the FAA. He is also required to have you accomplish certain hands on task. He did all this very methodically using his check list. When it was all over he presented me with my temporary A&P certificate. I contribute my success to my studies and to the AEC O&P prep course. If you have the FAA required experience to get your A&P this course make sure you are ready for the O&P.

As a side note, Mr. Nichols made me work for my certificate. Trust me this is what you want. The FAA has been cracking down on examiners who hand out A&P's without requiring the student to answer or complete the required task. The FAA has pulled A&P's tickets a year after they have had it because they went to an examiner who may have given them a "pass" on their O&P. It is much better to do a little studying now and go to a competent examiner than it is to take the easy way out and risk loosing your ticket later on.

If you already have taken your writtens like I had, and do a little studying you can have your A&P in three days. By the way the prices at AEC are some of the lowest I have found."

Good luck,

John Poulter
